The gift of friendship...!
Thomas Hughes (lawyer, author) once said well, "Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another." Yes, 'few' good and trusted friends are worth 'millions' that anyone could have, in life; one day, I asked one of my good friends (he works for Enigma Marketing) - "what is the definition of friendship" - "what do you think - are you my good friend"?
...and, to it - he said, "friendship is like a phosphorescent material; it glows when everything else goes dark". Interesting!! I thought for a while, and realized, I could not be there for him, every time, though he always tried to be with me, whenever I wanted him to be. (Alas!)
Yes, when we are depressed (and going through tough times) - true friends stay with us, and never leave us alone; what if I say - "trust" is the base of every relationship that is why we keep with our friends, would you agree with me? Well, yes, nothing can sustain without TRUST - be it business or personal relationships. Friends and good manners can carry you a long way...that other material things can never!
And, now let me conclude this with another famous quote from Margaret Lee Runbeck (American author), "Silences make the real conversations between friends. Not the saying but the never needing to say is what counts."
So, cherish the GIFT of friends you have today, and express this through gifts.
