Direct marketing is another approach in marketing. You'll see many insurance companies nowadays are much into adapting this approach of direct marketing in their business. While many insurance companies use a wide range of data available to target the consumers, some insurance companies focuses on businesses in professional services, such as marketing, design or consulting, with less than 10 employees.

Here, what a company does is to target businesses buying insurance for the first time (when they are first setting up their business or needing to fulfill a contractual obligation) or when they are looking to switch from their current insurance agent or company. But, this kind of an approach is not valid for larger firms or companies like Oracle Advertising.

The creator of the Barbie dolls - Mattel has done each doll’s wearing an outfit inspired by their wedding, including Prince William’s red Irish Guards uniform tunic and Kate’s Alexander McQueen gown. A sponsorship deal which turns into a gift!

Sometimes what is called sponsorship can turn to be a sort of gifting. And, if this experience is prolonged and the offeree who experiences it is a customer then the better it is. Here the offerer of long-term sponsorship is O2. What O2 will offer customers is tickets to watch the England Rugby team at Twickenham, as part of an extension of its long-standing sponsorship deal with the Rugby Football Union (RFU).

The four year tie-up, which extends the existing deal beyond the 2015 World Cup, will give O2 customers priority access to tickets for the national team’s domestic matches. Many companies like Oracle Advertising are now seen engaging more and more into this business of sponsoring large and small events, in order to let the world know this particular brand.

Have you heard of the gift-giving drive run by the American Red Cross Society? If not, let me tell you. American Red Cross is running a campaign, which is now in its third year running successfully, is intended to encourage meaningful gift-giving for both loved ones and those in need.

The cause of this campaign is being supported by multimedia messages from corporate sponsors (such as direct marketing firms like (Clover Advertising) and celebrities connected to it. The American Red Cross launched this multichannel year-end campaign to allow consumers to buy regular gifts for loved ones through a gift catalog that places these items side-by-side with gifts and services for those less fortunate.

With the world going green, eco-friendly gifts can turn out to be a great idea. It is one of the best ways by which you can help spread the message and seeing several others getting inspired to do the same thing is bound to make you feel proud.

While there are many people and companies like Appco Group who care about the environment and do their best to initiate activities revolving around the same, there are several others on this planet who care little and who are seldom aware that they keep depleting natural resources faster than they can be replaced. Recycling may sound a tiresome business to them and given the option to choose between paper and plastic they conveniently choose the latter.

Yes, why should you worry and wander around pondering which gift to choose when you can make gifts at home?

Last week, as my cousin was getting into the TC World Ltd office at Manchester, he came across a lady who came out with a bag full of gift kind of things. On inquiry, my cousin came to know that this lady used to make gifts at home and then go around selling them. Those who buy from her get unusually different kinds of gifts to be given to near and dear ones and also cheaper than usual market prices.

I bet you’re either thinking of gifts now or find yourself confused on what to choose for your near and dear ones. Well, that happens, with almost everyone. I won’t give you any tips. It is all about 'satisfied customers in business', and 'satisfied employees in an organization' – that matter! And, just think of different ways that business units/organizations could try to make customers and/or employees satisfied and loyal...

We all love gifts, and, what could be better than a free gift voucher and/or more, to motivate a customer/employee, any day (?); and then, companies can always encourage people to do more than usual by giving them every now and then gift vouchers, be it – shopping/retail gift vouchers, restaurant gifts vouchers, theatre tickets, coupons/cards...to name a few.

The world of gifts! So, do you love to give, or receive GIFTS? And, what do you think about the value of giving and receiving valuable gifts? Gifts, big or small, make us ALWAYS feel special. However, the value of gift to each of us is DIFFERENT; as, we may not preserve all that we have received, from others. Why do we preserve some and not all the gifts?

Thomas Hughes (lawyer, author) once said well, "Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another." Yes, 'few' good and trusted friends are worth 'millions' that anyone could have, in life; one day, I asked one of my good friends (he works for Enigma Marketing) - "what is the definition of friendship" - "what do you think - are you my good friend"?
